TIRUMALA, MARCH 9: Hundreds of students took part in the Maha
Saraswathi Yagam performed by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams in Tirupati on
Friday.
This Yagam would help to improve concentration, stabilise the thought
process, infuse rationality in thinking and achieve mental maturity which is
very essential especially for the students towards their fruitful career
ahead.
From the past few years TTD's Hindu Dharma Prachara Parishad (HDPP) wing
has been organsing this Maha Saraswathi Yagam during the examination period to
appease Goddess of Wisdom - Saraswathi Devi to shower her blessings on the
students.
Under the supervision of TTD Agama Advisor Dr Vedantam
Vishnubhattacharyulu, the Yagam took place between 9am to 1pm in Ramachandra in
Tirupati as per the norms of Vaikhanasa Agama tradition. The vedic pundits
performed homam by setting up six Agni Gundams and recited
"Saraswathi Maha Mantra" which will help the students to build mental
determination and courage to pass the exams. Later "Vidya Kankanams"-sacred
threads were distributed to the students.
TTD EO Sri LV Subramanyam, JEO Sri P Venkatrami Reddy, DPP Deputy EO Sri
Umapathi Reddy, OSD Sri Raghunath, scholar Sri Chenchu Subbaiah and others also
took part in the ceremonious fete. They all wished the students whole-heartedly
"All the Best" for their exams.
Earlier during the day around 8.30am, the processional deities of Lord
Sri Rama flanked by Goddess Sita Devi and Lord Lakshmana Swamy were brought to
the mandap where the ritual took place
